Reviewed Margherita Pizza (Pizza Margherita)

Jan 7, 2015 in on Food.com

Just made this, and am SO impressed. Used the fresh basil, fresh Roma tomato, and it is really so good. I think that, adding the Parmesan and crushed red pepper at the very end, adds a HUGE zing to the flavor (rather than adding those ingredients before baking). I can';t wait to make it for the kids. I used the small Boboli crust, so will...

Good salad. One thing: mayonnaise is so salty, it's a good idea to make it without salt, taste, and decide whether any is actually needed. Also, raisins are a good addition to this salad. I also agree that Ina Garten's way of roasting the bone-in, skin-on chicken gives lots more flavor for chicken in salad, as opposed to poached chicken.

Wonderful soup. Since it is now January, I used canned, San Marzano tomatoes. I did not try the optional lemon juice, but it might be interesting. Also, I used 3 parts tomato juice and 1 part homemade chicken broth. I used heavy cream and really do like that in the soup, but would think it would be fine also with milk. It';s good with but...

Excellent salad. We had it last night for Christmas Eve and all loved it. We don't have a wooden salad bowl, so just crushed the garlic and included it with the other ingredients, and shook in a jar. Worked just fine ! We used spring mix greens and fresh baby spinach.

Dec 7, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

This is a cozy family dish, and is something kids love. I made it with our leftover sloppy Joes meat, large elbow mac, full fat cottage cheese and sour cream, and good cheese. A little S & P, and it tasted just fine. If you're fussy or prissy, it may not please you.

Super simple and tasty. I had no pickle relish, so just finely chopped a dill slice. I'm enjoying it on mixed greens this time, but will use it for my next Reuben sandwiches, too."

I like this recipe very much. I used 20 oz. Cheddar and 10 oz. mozzarella, and topped the casserole with buttered bread crumbs before baking. I also used a bit more milk and half & half than called for in the recipe, just to keep it moist."
