Reviewed Buttermilk Doughnuts Donuts

12 hours ago in null on Food.com

I am giving this a no star rating because it is really a note to me and I need it in my review folder so I remember for reference.I am on a quest to find a great donut. This is not what I was looking for. This process allowed the gluten to form too strong of stands to make a light airy doughnut. glaze had too much of a powdered sugar taste and was...

This recipe is wonderful. It makes bread look like it come from a professional brick oven bakery. I cook at 475 and I have added many things to the dough. Fresh rosemary, oregano, garlic and marjoram is very good. If adding dried tomatoes or fruits reconstitute or it will take moisture from your bread. If I am making jalapeno cheese bread I add c...

Wonderful sauce. I added some fennel seed to it because it makes it taste more pizza-y to me. Love this recipe. Thanks again Kittencal. If you had a cookbook I would buy it. Wait....do you have a cookbook?"

Reviewed Carrot Cake Jam

Mar 13, 2014 in null on Food.com

Loved this jam. Mine did not set but I am convinced it was my fault. I will try boiling longer next time. I also added 1/4 cup chopped pecans and the can I bought of pineapple was 20 oz because I did not pay attention. I added most of it and ate some-could be why I had problem with it setting."

Mar 6, 2014 in null on Food.com

And Kittencal hits another one out of the park. I sliced the breasts in half and I used granulated garlic instead of powdered. I cooked until the chicken had and internal temp of 161 and then carried it over to 165 degrees and I cooked them on a rack. They were moist and crunchy. My son was cutting them with a fork (I taught him better, really I ...

I had always been told rice wine is rice vinegar. Not true. I added more sweetness to compensate. I added more sesame oil because I like that. also added sweet chili sauce and crushed red pepper and honey and sesame seed. I reduced the amount of soy sauce to 1/2 cup but could handle more. I changed this recipe a lot so probably shouldn';t rev...

Reviewed Kittencal's Best Crispy Onion Rings

Feb 23, 2014 in null on Food.com

I probably changed this recipe too much to rate it fairly but it is a great recipe. I added a few dashes of hot sauce to the milk and egg dip. I keep homemade seasoned flour on hand so due to ease I used that and added panko and cornstarch. I breaded the onions twice and used a regular yellow onion because I didn';t have a sweet one on hand. ...
