Reviewed Chunky Cheese Potato Soup and Wilted Spinach Salad

Feb 15, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This soup is AWESOME! I changed from heavy cream to 2 cups of half and half and 2 cups of whole milk. I also added a 1/2 cup of chicken stock to the potatoes and onions after they had cooked about 12 minutes. I had to keep stiring them so they didn't stick. The 1/2 cup of chicken stock helped me to scrape the yummy flavor bits off the bottom of t...

Very yummy! I read the reviews prior so on the third time of turning the fries, I turned up the oven to 450 degrees and the fries came out golden brown and crispy with soft center. I also cut the paprika to 1/2 teaspoon and then added 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice. These are my husband's new favorite recipe. We like Sandra Lee's spicy sweet pota...

Reviewed Coconut Rice and Peas

Rice was good with black eye peas. I only used one can and I wish I would have used two, but that is because I used 3 cups of rice instead of the one cup the recipe called for since it was for a dinner party. Also, I recommend looking at the cooking directions on the rice you purchase and use them as a guide in addition to the recipe directions ...

Awesome! Watch your oil it can get too hot too fast. It happened to us after first batch so we didn't get to do the second fry in oil. Good tip for next time, have everything prepped (garlic already chopped, etc.) so it was ready to quickly smash into plaintains. Also, don't start out with oil too high, it will ruin oil and you will have to star...

Freakin' aweome recipe. Chicken took much longer to cook in oven. I had read the reviews prior to making chicken so I did expect that. I left the skin on even though I have never done that. It gave it a moist flavorful texture. Also, per recipe, I grilled it on grill pan prior to oven and it gave it a great taste! This was family hit.""
