Reviewed Struffoli
"I was a little apprehensive to make this recipe as it's so different from the recipe my mother and I make every year. BUT, my mother is an Italian-American, as am I, so I thought I'd like to try what I KNOW is a truly traditional Struffoli recipe....because it's Giada's! The Struffoli turned out wonderful! The dough is must softer than I would have imagined..and much richer, with the butter. (my mother's recipe is basically flour, eggs, salt, baking powder). The rounded up really nicely in the oil, so to me there's really no need to roll them. They're very soft, rich and delicious. I can't tell my 82-year-old mother, but I think I may have to make a separate batch of these struffoli every year from now on! Shhhhhhhhhh!
