Reviewed Souvlaki (Wicked Kebabs

Jan 16, 2013 in Recipes on Cooking Channel

This is nearly identical to my father's recipe for lamb souvlaki, or "spiedies" as they're called around Binghamton, NY. This is a perfect marinade for all meat and/or poultry kabobs!! TRULY delicious!"

Even though I drained the can of whole corn it was extremely runny. It was also very bland. I won't make this again"

This is truly delicious, wonderful, and a meal by itself! You won't miss the meat at all but the quality of the bread is crucial; use a thick-crusted rustic bread. I even hollow it out a bit so I can get more filling inside. This is the perfect sammie!!! ""

Reviewed Smoky Greens with Cranberries

May 7, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is a GO TO recipe for me! If you're not a fan of kale, use any other greens. I've tried it with collards, Brussels Sprouts etc. and it's always delicious due mainly to the craisins, giving the greens a nice tart/sweet flavor. The bacon is also a must! The only thing I do differently is cook diced bacon and remove it to a separate dish then a"

Mar 2, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Sorry to disagree with everyone but I thought this tasted very mediocre. I had all the ingredients except leeks and cognac but I don't think their ommission made that much difference. A lot of work for such mundane results."

Reviewed Gina's Sweet Potato Salad

Feb 20, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I love sweet potatoes and couldn't wait to try this but like many others I found it to be fairly tasteless. I found it hard to believe Pat and Gina did NOT add cayenne pepper, which seems to show up in all their food and is excessive (in my opinion. Who wants everything to taste like cayenne????) but that's what this dish may have needed. The texture...

So are we supposed to just imagine what "Moroccan spice" might consist of?? And the spices are what's supposed to really make this dish but they don't give a clue what they might be. But the Foodnetwork people never read these reviews anyway, so they never get corrected or ammended............we're on our own here. Good luck.

Reviewed Toasted Israeli Couscous Salad with Grilled Summer Vegetables

Jan 24, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Actually, Allia, it IS Israeli couscous, which is different from the one found in Northern Africa and some of the Middle East. Israeli couscous is quite a bit larger than the other couscous and resembles little balls, being perfectly round, unlike the other couscous. For a good photo, see Bobby's recipe for "Toasted Israeli Couscous with Vegetables...

Jan 9, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

It says cooking time is 5 min. But you need to do almost 3 HOURS of prep work according to the instructions, all this for just a sandwich! THIS IS REDICULOUS!!! And the foodnetwork people must never read these remarks because I've never known them to correct a recipe. That is also rediculous.
