We left Missouri for Iowa many years ago, but we never got over our love affair with southern cooking. My favorite cookbook is Fanny Flagg's Whistle Stop Cafe Cookbook. Every time I use the book's pot roast recipe I get complements.
I don't eat meat but my husband does, so I am always looking for tasty recipes without meat, in addition to meat recipes that are very exact (since I won't be taste-testing them).
