My Activity

Reviewed Grilled Pierogies and Kielbasa

"This was delicious but confusing a bit. When it states "grill", I think of my Weber. Fortunately I have a grill pan that worked great. Followed the directions pretty close and feel this was easy and very good. I LOVE Pierogies and love this new way of having them."

Reviewed Mortadella Stromboli

"This was a nice change for Stromboli. I make my own pizza crust so I didn't used pre-made. I used the swiss cheese, mortadella, shredded mozzarella, pizza sauce, and the rest of ingredients that the recipe called for. I wish I would have used some left over roasted tomato sauce instead of the pizza sauce, but it may not have made a taste differ"

Shared Recipe Crispy Baked Potato Fans

"I had seen this done on another cooking show and had to try it. I tweaked it a little for my own personal taste and feel it would work for others."

Reviewed Lemony Yogurt Marinated Leg of Lamb

"This was okay, but not "awesome". The recipe calls for a temp. of 500 degrees, and this is too high for this meat. I'm high elevation, so I have to adjust most my cooking accordingly. I did 425 for 1/2 hour and then 350 for the remainder, 20 minutes per pound. The meat came out perfectly. My only disappointment was the dipping yogurt sauce. "

Reviewed Black Bean and Corn Salad

"I normally don't use Rachael Ray's recipes but I needed something to compliment a beef fajita besides rice. This was PERFECT, EASY, & VERY GOOD. I used Frank's Hot Sauce...which is the BEST without over-powering heat. I feel this will be an awesome side for summer dishes. I will definitely keep this on hand. "

Reviewed Chicken Apple Sausage Frittata

"I'm giving this 5 stars only because I LOVE breakfast. I haven't seen the episode on TV so I went by the recipe only. The only change I made was using Fontanelle Cheese instead of Jack. I will grill the tortillas next time and then add to skillet, place filling inside, and heat until cheese is melted. Or I may consider Naan bread to give it mo"

Reviewed Shrimp Newburg

"I was looking for a substitute for Lobster Newburg over Popovers and since I had shrimp instead of lobster I thought this would work out fine. It was good and soaked into the popovers well. I think it could have used a bit more kick like maybe some Old Bay or a small tad of cayenne. Will do it again. Thanks for posting."

About Me

My Mom didn't like more than one cook in the kitchen so I learned to cook after I lived on my own. I basically taught myself. I never liked the "same old stuff" so I had started to experiment with recipes. I found loads of recipes to play with through my days, even before the internet (grin). 6.5 years ago I met a man who loves to cook as much as me. We have been having loads of fun with the recipes that we find. Maybe someday we can publish a "if you want it, we have it" cookbook.

Favorite Foods

My favorite foods are shrimp (anything), and anything unique and different. Oh yeah, MASHED POTATOES, I can sure tell you how many wonderful recipes I had found for these...WOW!! The best so far was done in a crockpot (would you believe??).
