If you are reading the comments and haven't made the recipe yet, you will see that some people say that this recipe makes a lot. It does not. The recipe has been altered to make a smaller batch.

The cheese is expensive, but very good. Be sure not to add hot pasta to the eggs. Rinse it first or let it cool off enough to be warm.

I really did not like the taste. It was my first time to use Herbs de Province so I tend to think that I don't like that herb. Otherwise it was super easy and I will take the advice of another poster and sub dried oregano next time."

This recipe really helped me make a duck that was tender and not fatty. I love duck and now I can make it at home! Thanks to Alexandra for suggesting the dried cherries. We don't have the razz-cherries available where I live. The sauce was so good my husband wanted to have it on pancakes in the morning. I think he was joking :)"

I have to point out that Alton has another recipe almost exactly the same that has a video. Also, that I changed the recipe because of lack of ingredients and advise of others.

I had a little over 4 lbs of onions. I could not find the beef consomme and I didn't have the apple cider but juice. I did not have an electric skillet.

I miss Herb! I hope he gets picked up for a show anyway! It's hard to find his recipes now and they were so good!
