Wonderful recipe. The pecans give it a little texture, and the caramel/vanilla flavor is delicious. Making it in muffin tins is a good idea; it's a rich dessert and the smaller portion is a good size. I would recommend making the pralines ahead of time, especially if you're new to candy making.
