My Activity

Reviewed Cheddar-Dill Scones

"Pretty Good! Light, flaky, crispy..... missing a little something, then again, i DID use skim milk instead of heavy cream and dried dill instead of fresh.

Overall, quite tasty. Mine cooked in about 17 minutes, but that just might be my oven.

I could definitely see scallions and bacon would be delicious, as others mentioned. Would go great f""

Reviewed Potato Soup with Shrimp

"Made as directed, substituted corn for shrimp, used exact same method, boiled kernels in water then moved to big pot. Also used milk instead of half and half. As everyone said, potatoes took approx 30 mins to soften, maybe Paula cubed them smaller than I did. I added about 3 strips of chopped cooked bacon to soup pot and then a bit of Mexican ch""

Reviewed The Lady's Chicken Noodle Soup

"Very good, easy way to use up a chicken, and easy to make. Will definately make again. I added extra veggies and cut back a little on the noodles, very tasty.

Reviewed Stretch a Buck Turkey and Bean Burrito Burgers

"This was a decent dish, taste is similiar to that of tacos or chili, was easy to make and reheated well. Rice and beans gave it a little extra something in flavor and a lot of bulk, so you can either make a few big patties or half a dozen smaller ones, depending on your needs.

I'll make again at some point but it's not a favorite.

Reviewed Pasta Bolognese

"Wow! I could not believe I made this, it was so easy and very tasty! I watched the video before cooking, it seemed to help a little, Anne recommends really browning the veggies and meat, which I did. I used a full bottle of wine, it really gave great flavor.

I definately recommend, not for a quick dish, but for when you have the time.

Reviewed 30 Minute Shepherd's Pie

"Excellent dish, highly recommend. First time is a little slow going as there's a few steps but after that it's very easy to make. It's a nice change from my mother's recipe growing up, plain beef, corn and potatos layered, no gravy. The gravy really adds something extra, gives it a nice heartiness, and the dish reheats well for lunch.

(Note: I do add onion powder and garlic powder to the meat/pea mix and I also cook the carrots and onions from the start with the meat, I don't add later, to give them some flavor and soften them up a bit.)
