Reviewed Lebanese Lentils, Rice and Caramelized Onions (Mujadara

"This is an EXCELLENT recipe -- how I LOVE Arabic/Mediterranean food! This is quite filling on its own and as a side dish even better! I miss Aarti terribly, I use her recipes at least 3/4/mo. What happened to her, she is no longer on FoodNetwork? I for one loved Cinnamon w/savory dishes and use it all the time! But then again, I love the reci"

Reviewed Chili Beef Stir-Fry with Scallions and Snow Peas

"Good recipe and I would keep the pan on the stove then heat the meat, the way it is written you don't get a chance to reheat the meat and it was cold. I only added 1 T of Sambal Oelek and it was spicy, from the start I knew 2 T was too much. The GREAT thing when you cook at home is that you can adjust just about anything!

Reviewed Black Forbidden Rice with Peaches and Snap Peas

"Excellent, I really love the forbidden rice! it's great! I couldn't find any good fresh peaches since I found out about this recipe so I used frozen -- they are still good and so is the recipe! I think I'll have the rice tomorrow for breakfast w/some scrambled eggs!

Yum -- I want to spice up my breakfast and this rice is perfect for it. I wil""

Reviewed Lavender and Lemon Cookies

"I am very disappointed, I love lavender and often use it as a cleaner, in my shower, dryer sheets and even soaps; however, these were an enormous disappointment! There is far too much butter in them, they are far too crumbly, this of course is due to the almond meal (flour), and I don't know why she included almond meal in the first place.

Reviewed Crispy Herb Crusted Halibut with Curly Celery and Haricots Verts

"Although I really love Anne, her sense of humour, style and her cooking and recipes, I really did not like this recipe for fish at all! I prefer something tastier. Maybe I need a little more salt, I don't know. I used Black Cod instead of Halibut, b/c I don't like Halibut for the same reason, it's insipid.

Oh well, you can't like e/thing e/one does! Anne is the MOST creative chef on Food Network and I always watch her and make several of her recipes. Her side dishes are out of this world! (I didn't try the piquillo peppers though, are they hot?)

About Me

I LOVE to cook, it allows me to express my creativity, provide excellent nutrition for my mom and I and, feel a sense of accomplishment!

Also, this allows me to take care of Mother Earth and work w/others who do the same.

I particularly like the Mediterranean recipes in Paula Wolfert's book "Slow Mediterranean Recipes."

I also particularly like Anne Burrel whom  I think is a great cook and very creative.
