My Activity

Reviewed Ants in Trees

"This is a great recipe to have for a weeknight meal. However, since my husband doesn't eat pork I substituted freshly ground chicken thigh, which I think made this taste a tad bland so I added a little fish sauce, hoisin and sesame oil at the end. The leftovers were also fantastic.""

Reviewed Chocolate Bread Pudding

"I made this today for brunch and passed it off as baked French toast. However I substituted nutella for hot cocoa mix and drizzled the top with it to finish. Next time I'll stick to the recipe and won't waste the nutella in the custard but keep the drizzle...it was awesome! Although it registered 170 degrees the pudding looked a little wet but it firmed up nicely after resting. I also forgot it was under the broiler and charred the top a bit more than I normally would, but everyone thought it was intentional and said it reminded them of charred marshmallows. I will be looking for a reason to make this again...soon!"

Reviewed Seared Porterhouse with Oozing Maitre d' Butter

"The butter was amazing on our dry aged 1 1/2 inch thick rib eyes. I will definitely make this again. I served this with loaded baked potatoes, Alton's Fungal Saute and Ina's Spinach Gratin. Not a healthy meal, but certainly delicious!"

Reviewed Zucchini Pancakes

"This is a really good, basic recipe. I made these last minute for an impromptu neighborhood happy hour and the kids gobbled them up. However, similar to making potato pancakes, I squeezed out the excess moisture from the zucchini after shredding and I probably added much more than 2 Tbls shredded onion. Served with simple greek yogurt dip made with garlic, lemon juice and fresh tarragon. I didn't make the recipe exactly as printed (I rarely do), but I found lots of good inspiration from this one so it is definitely 5 stars!
