You're complaining that people rate the recipe after they changed it, but you did the exact same thing. The meatloaf does seem too moist, but it should shape just fine, without the extra bread crumbs. You should have tried it without alterations the first time and it may have been 5 stars for you.

Thank you, Gwyneth! People should only rate the recipes if they tried it without a ton of alterations. I choose recipes mainly by the ratings, and good or poor ratings by people who do not follow or alter directions mess up the validity of the rating system.

It is frustrating when people give rave or terrible reviews after they have modified the recipe. This is a new one, people who give terrible reviews because they do not like the ingredients. Really?

I have made this many times, and it is by far my favorite meatloaf recipe. I did not have tomato paste one time when I made it, so I used a can of tomato sauce. The meat seemed more "sticky" as a result, but it still cooked for the same amount of time. It tasted great with the change. I especially liked the idea of cooking with a pan or water bene"
