I'm a huge fan of the Alton Brown methods of cooking and baking. Watched Good Eats through my college years. I started off knowing next to nothing about cooking except to follow a recipe. Now that I'm married I'm ready to start actively learning about how to think beyond a recipe and look at cooking from more of a scientific cause-and-effect approach. I'm cooking through some of his books and the show--so maybe I should start a Julie and Julia style blog and call it Amanda and Alton. LOL!
