"A few years ago we wanted to brine our turkey for Thanksgiving. Found Alex's recipe and use it every time we cook turkey. Have NEVER been able to make good cornbread from scratch...EVER. Used Alex's recipe last night. EXCELLENT!!! "
Reviewed Pumpkin Pie
"OH MY GOD! This is one of the best pies I have ever made. Here in Louisiana we have a whole weekend of Thanksgiving Feasting. I had pecan, lemon cream and coconut cream pie for Thanksgiving Day. Reviewed Spiced Pecans
"We have an abundant amount of pecans this year. I made the first batch exactly like the recipe. These spiced pecans are terrific. We like things spicy here in Louisiana, so I increased the amount of cayenne to our tastes. This will make a great snack for an upcoming BBQ Shower and as gifts this Christmas. This recipe will be a keeper in our household.
I started cooking at the age of eleven. My Cajun Grandmother let me into her kitchen teaching me great family traditions. Out of necessity I leaned how to create balanced meals for our family of three kids and a working single mother. I was in the foodservice industry for over twenty years. With my retirement I enjoy trying new dishes and taking specialized cooking classes. My husband has a large organic bountiful garden. I love using the best ingredients possible.
