My Activity

Reviewed Classic Italian Lasagna

"I've made a lot of Giada's dishes and always love them. This one was good, too, but I will definitely do things a little differently next time. The biggest problem I and my husband had with it was that it was very dry. I think doubling or even tripling the amount of sauce in the recipe is a great idea, and I will add more tomato than Bechamel sauce next time. We ended up adding extra marinara sauce when eating it left over. Also, the ground beef was bland. Next time I'll saute it with garlic and onion. I also recommend adding some Italian spices to the ricotta cheese mixture. Maybe I'm ruining a pure Italian dish by making these modifications, but apparently I like a more americanized version. Still, it was really good and I'll make it again, but with some modifications.
