My Activity

Reviewed Perfect Roast Chicken

"This was my first time roasting a whole chicken, and WOW! Mine was 5 lb exactly, and needed about 80 min to cook. For the vegetables I used parsnips, carrots, onions, and yukon gold potatoes. I recommend using Ina's "engagement chicken" recipe to make a sauce on the stove, after the chicken/vegetables are cooked. Add crusty bread and a glass of ch"

Reviewed Weeknight Bolognese

"I made this for my husband and me this week, and we both loved it. I cut the recipe in half, which made enough for two generous portions + leftovers for me the next day.

After reading other reviews I decided to start the recipe by sauteing about 1/4 cup onion and one small carrot, diced, which I think did help the sauce. I didn't have fresh bas""

Reviewed Roasted Winter Vegetables

"Wonderful! This was my first experience roasting vegetables, and now I can't get enough. I usually use a mixture of carrots, sweet potatoes, and yukon gold potatoes. If it looks like you're making a TON of vegetables, don't worry about it. Leftovers are delicious (if you have any leftovers at all!."

Reviewed Bangers and Mash

"Pretty good recipe - I think it all depends on the quality of chicken sausage you're able to find. Next time I think I'll add a little more of the mustard mixture as I didn't feel the mustard flavor was strong enough."

Reviewed Pear, Apple and Cranberry Crisp

"I made this recipe for my in-laws' Christmas Eve sit down dinner. It was a huge hit! I tripled the recipe for 40 servings and served it in individual ramekins to make it a little more special. Baking time was the same for the ramekins as making it in one dish. The mix of apples and pears is great, but if you don't like pears, it's equally delicious with just apples. Don't leave out the cranberries as they really add to the taste and visual interest of this dish. Depending on the fruit to topping ratio you prefer, you might not need to use all of the topping. This is one of my go-to recipes, it's foolproof and everyone always likes it!
